How BeGiving works today — product facts, plus Privacy and Terms in plain language.

Privacy and Terms

Read Privacy and Terms in everyday words. The notes below match the live product: we are not a payment processor, and I'm in is a commitment.

I’m in is a commitment, not a payment

I’m in is a personal commitment, not a payment and not a binding contract. BeGiving does not charge cards or move money for needs. Help is arranged with the partner offline. You can withdraw while the commitment is still open.

I’m praying is the same kind of yes

On a prayer request, I’m praying tells the partner you are standing with them. It is not a donation, not a contract, and not charged here.

We do not process money for needs

There is no checkout on a need. Dollar amounts on I’m in are what you plan to give offline. BeGiving is not a payment processor or money transmitter for partner needs.

This is a US site for people 13 or older

BeGiving is built for use in the United States. You must be 13 or older. It is not a children’s service. Partners who post photos are responsible for permission — especially pictures of children or anyone who did not ask to be shown.

Partners describe themselves

A partner application gets a lightweight steward review. An EIN, if provided, is a verification aid and is not shown publicly. It is not a warranty that the organization is a 501(c)(3). “Who they serve” tags are written by the partner. BeGiving does not certify tax status or populations served.

Stories, chat, and links

Harvest stories, photos, community chat, and Bargain Hunter links are posted by people. Sexual or explicit posts are hidden immediately. Site admins decide whether to ban the author. Stewards may unhide a false report. Stewards may also remove or report other abuse. Product and video links must use an approved host — known retailers and moderated video sites, plus extras a site admin has allowed. Shorteners and known explicit hosts are blocked. Third-party pages are not BeGiving.

What we keep in order to run the site

If you create an account we store your email and profile, follows, I’m in / I’m praying commitments, harvest and chat activity, unread markers, notification preferences, reports you send, and enough activity to keep the hive safe. Partners can see commitments on their own needs. Site admins can review reports and moderate. We do not sell neighbor lists.

Questions

For a need, talk with the partner. To report abuse, use the in-app report on the post, need, or chat. To delete your account, email us — there is not a self-serve button yet.
